What can I expect during a BBL HEROic treatment?

During a BBL HEROic treatment, a clear gel is applied over the treatment areas to help your skin absorb light energy. As the treatment begins, you should feel minimal to no discomfort as your provider gently glides the handpiece over the skin.

Pulsed light improves your skin in two ways. Initially, it targets highly vascular and pigmented areas like visible blood vessels or sunspots, breaking them down for absorption by the body. Additionally, the generated heat acts within the collagen-rich areas, triggering the body's healing response and resulting in a reduction of fine lines and wrinkles and a more youthful appearance.

Is the BBL Heroic painful?

A treatment with BBL HEROic is well tolerated by most patients. It is commonly described as feeling like a quick snap on the skin, with the sensation fading swiftly as the handheld device pulses over the skin. Thanks to BBL HEROic’s CoolComfort™ technology, which cools the epidermis (top layer of skin) during the procedure, topical anesthesia is not necessary. After the treatment, it is normal for the skin to feel warm for about 30 to 60 minutes

Is there any downtime?

There is minimal-to-no downtime following treatment with BBL HEROic. Patients can typically resume normal activities immediately.

Key points to remember, include:

Skin sensitivity: Your skin may feel sensitive, like a mild sunburn, but this typically subsides within 48 hours.

Healing process: You might notice temporary darkening of pigmented areas, along with some redness and swelling. These are part of the natural healing process where pigment is absorbed by the body and disrupted skin cells are replaced by new ones, repairing your skin.

Post-treatment care: Follow your provider's advice, avoid direct sun exposure, and wear broad-spectrum SPF 50+ sunscreen to protect the skin, especially during the first 72 hours post-treatment. Depending on the skin's pre-existing condition, mild discomfort, dryness, or minor crusting may occur.

Skincare and makeup: You can typically resume using skincare products and makeup within 24 hours post-treatment.

How much does a BBL Heroic cost?

One BBL HEROic treatment costs $399 with the addition of each area costing $100 in that same session. So if you had a treatment for the face only, this would be $399. If you have the face and neck treated, this would be $499 total. Similarly, the face, neck and chest would be $599.

So the results are impressive…but how often do I need a treatment?

Initially you may need a series of 2-3 treatments based on the skin concern being treated. After the initial 1-3 treatments one treatment every 4 months has been clinically proven to keep skin appearing younger and maintain even pigmentation. Typically, people will receive one treatment after the end of summer, one during the holidays and one during the fall time with a short break over the peak of summer. We always recommend a package of three to maintain maximal results now and in the years to come.
